Kanaby Selected as ODAC Women's Golfer of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Washington and Lee first-year Megan Kanaby (Chapel Hill, N.C. / Cardinal Gibbons) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week ending October 1.

Kanaby earned the honor after helping lead the Generals to a fourth-place finish out of 12 teams at the Montgomery Country Club Intercollegiate on September 28-29.

As a team, W&L shot a two-day score of 302-312—614 (+38), carding the second-lowest single round and the second-best 36-hole score in program history. 

Individually, Kanaby placed third out of 70 golfers with a +3 score of 71-76—147 (+3).  The one-under par score of 71 that she shot in the opening round tied for the third-best score in program history.  Her 36-hole score of 147 was the third-best total in the program annals.

For the season, Kanaby has played five rounds and she leads the team with a 77.0 scoring average.

Washington and Lee, ranked 13th in Division III, returns to action on October 7-8 when it competes in the Carnegie Mellon Tartan Invitational at the Laurel Valley Golf Club.
