    Senior MacKenzye Leroy (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) led a trio of Washington and Lee runners with a 134th-place finish out of 279 competitors at the NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Principia College.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released its special awards for men’s cross country on Thursday, and Washington and Lee first-year Freddie Marx (Greensboro, N.C./Walter Hines Page) was named the Rookie of the Year, and Head Coach Brandon Spalding earned the Coach of the Year award.

    Junior Hank Patrick (Baton Rouge, La./University Laboratory School) and senior MacKenzye Leroy (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) qualified as individuals to the NCAA Championships, as the Washington and Lee men’s cross country team placed fourth out of 32 teams at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional hosted by Christopher Newport on Saturday.
