KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced its 2017 Division III College Men's Soccer Scholar All-America Team on Friday, and Washington and Lee junior midfielder Will Hamryka (Dawsonville, Ga. / Greater Atlanta Christian School) earned a spot on the second team.
Hamryka is the first men's soccer player in program history to be selected to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America team.
A chemistry major, Hamryka appeared in 21 games for the Generals. Hamryka led W&L with six goals, while also dishing out two assists. A first team all-conference and second team all-region honoree, Hamryka's 14 points tied for first on the squad. He was also named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region team.
Washington and Lee completed the 2017 season with a 15-5-2 overall record and a 7-2 conference mark. The Generals made their third straight appearance in the NCAA tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2000, falling to eventual National Runner-Up, North Park, 3-0.
