    The National Field Hockey Coaches Association released the 2017 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction on Thursday, and Washington and Lee had two players honored out of the 242 athletes selected.

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that a record 253 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed fall term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.50. The prior record for scholar-athletes in the fall or winter term was 242 set last fall.

    The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced its 2017 Division III Field Hockey Tournament field on Sunday evening, and Washington and Lee was one of 24 teams to make the bracket. W&L will host Denison in the first round on Wednesday with the game time still to be determined.
  • W&L Field Hockey Claims ODAC Title with 2-1 OT Win over Hornets

    Junior forward Haley Tucker (Manakin-Sabot, Va./St. Catherine's School) tallied the game-winning goal 2:46 into overtime to propel the top-seeded Washington and Lee field hockey team to a 2-1 victory over second-seeded Lynchburg in the ODAC Championship contest on Saturday at the W&L Turf Field. This marks the second ODAC title in program history and the first since 2005.
